HOW-TO GUIDE
How to File an LLC in Florida
Filing a Florida LLC means submitting formation documents to the state, appointing a registered agent, and keeping basic records so your business is usable from day one.
Reserve or confirm your business name
Search the Florida Division of Corporations database to reduce the chance of a rejected filing. Your legal name usually must include “LLC” or “Limited Liability Company.”
Submit Articles of Organization
You will list your principal address, registered agent, and managers or members. Many founders use a guided filing service so the packet is complete the first time.
After the state approves your LLC
Obtain an EIN from the IRS, sign an operating agreement, open a business bank account, and set up how customers will find you — website, Google profile, and a dedicated business phone line.
